Abstract
⺠We argue that the impact of copying on the supply of copyright works is essential for a welfare analysis. ⺠In the German record industry, the number of copyright works supplied increased with digital copying. ⺠Consumption time also increased with digital copying, suggesting no reduction in the quality of supply. ⺠We discuss explanations for this counter-intuitive result.
