Abstract
⺠This discussion focuses on the key research design choices related to opacity and informed trading. ⺠I review the various measures that Maffett (this issue) and others use to measure opacity. ⺠I discuss the joint effects of opacity on private information, liquidity, and price corrections. ⺠I relate the results to the literature on institutional investor performance and stock selection.
