Abstract
- To investigate the patterns of residential intermixing we use a typology of tracts based on the composition of residents.
- We use ANOVA and discriminant analysis to examine the link between residential intermixing and the local context.
- Higher social groups are increasingly more segregated from the rest of the TMR's population.
- The better off concentrate mostly in the city center and in the suburbs.
- Lower socioeconomic categories are stubbornly segregated in selected, often clustered, locations.
- The built-up form and demographic characteristics of tracts contribute to the patterns of residential intermixing.
