Abstract
Based on the motives for moving, mobility can be classified into production-related mobility and consumption-related mobility. Lifestyle mobility is a different form of mobility in that it blurs the boundary between leisure and work. As a typical case of lifestyle mobility, lifestyle entrepreneurs are studied mostly from entrepreneurial and migration perspective rather than from mobility. Using lifestyle mobility theoretical lens, this paper explores the motivations, decision-making processes and the dynamic mobility characteristics of lifestyle entrepreneurs in China. The mobility of lifestyle entrepreneurs is lifestyle-oriented, with slow pace of life and the natural environment as their key motives. Lifestyle entrepreneurs are of high mobility. They make quick decisions to move and will return to their original places eventually. Chinese lifestyle entrepreneurs are different from western ones. First, their moving is mainly inside China. Second, they are all prepared to get back to their original places eventually.
