Abstract

The elasto-plastic large deflection equations for annular sector plates are outlined. They include two sets of incremental constitutive equations. Both are based on the flow theory of plasticity, but one uses the Ilyushin and the other the Von Mises yield criterion. The dynamic relaxation (DR) method is used to solve the equations. The numerical analysis is verified by comparing predicted first yield pressures with exact values. New results are presented, which quantify the effects of plate slenderness, edge support conditions and yield criteria on deflections etc. of a uniformly loaded 60° annular sector plates with 0.5 inner to outer radius ratio.
