Abstract
Two IV devices (Edelvaiss range from Doran International society) were conceived to prevent IV adverse events in operating theatres. The safety was based on the following points: (1) standardization of IV system; (2) identification of drug access according to drug toxicity; (3) closed system; (4) preventing backflows and decreasing dead volume in IV system. With regards to human factors, a training tool was shared with nurse anesthetists during a 3-day workshop to support the supplying of the IV MD and to remember IV-therapy practices. This approach led to create a dynamic among the anaesthesia staff to prevent IV adverse drug events and to support practices changes.
