Abstract

In the present paper in the context of plane problem we study harmonic oscillations of the elastic rectangle above a viscoelastic layered half-space. The latter consists of an elastic half-space in which a viscoelastic layer of thickness h1h1 is embedded at the depth hh. By using the Fourier integral transform and Betti's integral identity, the problem is reduced to a set of integral equations. In view of practical applications, we study the possibility of protection from vibrations attained with the use of the viscoelastic layer.
