Abstract
We propose an approximate efficient rigid-plastic finite element method that reduces both the computational time and volume changes during the simulation of a rotary forming process. The proposed approach was verified and applied to a computer simulation of a wheel bearing assembly process encountered during the manufacture of bearings. We compared the analyzed predictions with experiment data and observed good agreement.
