Abstract
In this work, we undertake a study to investigate the hydrogen generating performance of a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer powered by a Photovoltaic and Thermal System (PV/T) with a surface area of 1.28Â m2 at a constant temperature with a panel cooling system through a heat changer by removing the heat from the PV cells. It also helps increasing the system overall efficiency. The model is constructed in the Engineering Equation Solver (EES). As a results, average energetic and exergetic efficiencies of the overall PV/T system are found to be 29% and 14.11% respectively. Furthermore, it is observed that 0.018Â kg hydrogen can be produced by using a single PV/T panel on the day of August 1st.
