Abstract
The behaviour of [Ag(OClO3)(PPh3)] or Ag(ClO4) towards [(C6F5)2Pt(μ-Ph2)2M(1,1â²-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene)] is strongly dependent on M. Ag+ can act as: (a) C6F5 scavenger (M = Pt) or: (b) an electrophile which produces insertion of Ag+ into the Pd-P bond and forms a tetranuclear derivative with Pd-Ag and Pd-Pt bonds (M = Pd).
