Abstract
A simple and rapid microwave assisted route for the synthesis of colloidal gold nanostructures using different ketones have been developed. Ketones act as a reducing and structure directing agent in a reaction. The catalytic activity and recyclability of gold nanostructures have been evaluated towards reduction of p-nitrophenol to p-aminophenol.
