Syntheses, structures and magnetic properties of one-dimensional manganese(II) complexes bridged by 2,2′-biphenyldicarboxylate

Two new manganese (II) complexes based on μ3-bridging dpa ligand, namely {[Mn (dpa) (3-mepy)2]∙(H2O)}n (1) and {[Mn (dpa) (4-mepy)2]∙(H2O)}n (2) (dpa = 2,2′-biphenyldicarboxylate, 3-mepy = 3-methylpyridine, 4-mepy = 4-methylpyridine) were prepared and structurally characterized. An antiferromagnetic exchange interaction of 1 and 2 was investigated by the magnetic susceptibility measurements in the temperature range 1.80-300 K.141
