Topological control of supramolecular crystal structures of phenylene bis-monothiooxamate derivatives and in vitro anticancer activity

The ortho-, meta- and para-isomers of phenylenebis(2-thiooxamate) are obtained in mild conditions using Lawesson's reagent. Crystal structures indicate supramolecular one-dimensional architectures. Preliminary in vitro anticancer studies against leukemia cell line showed a topological (positional isomerism) dependence with the molecular architecture along this series.245
