ATR-FTIR spectroscopic investigation of the cis- and trans-bis-(α-amino acids) copper(II) complexes

The cis-isomers and trans-isomers bis-(α-amino acids) copper(II) complexes were studied by ATR-FTIR spectroscopy. It was established that asymmetric νas(COO) and symmetric νs(COO) stretching vibrations of carboxylic groups have different maxima for the trans- and cis-isomers. It found that νas(COO) and νs(COO) stretching vibrations of cis-isomers are shifted to longer wavelengths as compared with trans-isomers.345
