Metallo-porphyrazines with eight [5-thiopentyl 3,4,5-tris(benzyloxy)benzoate] groups: Synthesis, characterization, aggregation, and solubility behavior

Novel soluble several metallo-porphyrazines (M = 2H, Mg, Co, Cu, Zn or Fe) with eight [5-thiopentyl 3,4,5-tris(benzyloxy)benzoate] groups have been synthesized through esterification reaction of octakis(hydroxypentylthio) porphyrazinato magnesium with a 3,4,5-tris(benzyloxy)benzoic acid in the being of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCCI) and toluene-p-sulfonic acid. The characterization and spectral properties of the synthesized compounds were identified by using different spectroscopic methods such as FT-IR, UV-vis, MS, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR together with elemental analysis.146
