Abstract
Two novel silver(I) complexes with the anti-inflammatory diclofenac (dicl), namely [Ag(dicl)]n (1) and [Ag(dicl)(bipy)]n (2) (bipy: 4,4'-bipyridine), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Their solid state photoluminescence properties have been studied at room temperature. Furthermore, both complexes have been tested for their in vitro antibacterial activity.352
