Halide/pseudohalide complexes of cadmium(II) with benzimidazole: Synthesis, crystal structures and fluorescence properties

Three new dinuclear Cd(II) complexes, [CdL1Cl2]2·H2O, [CdL1(N3)2]2·CH3OH and [CdL2Cl(dca)]2 and one polynuclear network [CdL1(μ1,5-dca)dca]n have been prepared and characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography using the benzimidazole derived primary Schiff base ligands L1and L2. The fluorescent properties of two ligands as well as four compounds were also studied.195
