Abstract
A novel series of mononuclear copper(II) complexes have been isolated from N3O2 and N3O4 donors containing Schiff base ligands and characterized. Redox properties of the complexes show a one-electron irreversible reduction process. The radical scavenging potency was appraised against DPPH radical. In vitro cytotoxicity of the complexes was tested against human breast cancer cell line, and the results show that the complex 5 having better activity. The complexes containing hydrophobic substituent manifest significant biological activity.261
