Abstract
A one pot synthesis of flavones is established from 2â²-hydroxyacetophenones and substituted aromatic aldehydes. The method uses domino aldol-Michael-oxidation reaction catalyzed by pyrrolidine as a base and iodine as an oxidant in dimethyl sulfoxide.
