Abstract
This paper deals with the regions matching problem of a pair of color stereoscopic images. The proposed approach is carried out in two main steps. The first step selects the candidate matches, which meet the relative position and the overlapping constraints. The second one finds, among these candidates, the correct matches according to a cost function which we define. To guarantee a great similarity between corresponding regions, we propose a new color-based cost function to disambiguate false matches. The cost function take into account the local property at the vicinity of region boundaries. The method is tested on synthesized and real stereo images and the results are satisfactory.
