Abstract
⺠We propose a model of effective protein-protein interaction embedding solvent effects. ⺠A previous square-well model is enhanced by giving to the interaction a free energy character. ⺠The temperature dependence of the interaction is due to entropic effects of the solvent. ⺠The validity of the original SW model is extended to entropy driven phase transitions. ⺠We get good fits for lysozyme and haemoglobin spinodal data taken from literature.
