Abstract
The incorporated TiO2 changed PBB structure by introducing bonding defect and non-bridging oxygen, which accordingly affected the glass forming ability, thermal performance and Faraday rotation. The Verdet constants as a function of laser wavelength, glass cutoff and TiO2 contents were studied, respectively. A yellowish transparent and homogenous glass with a big UV cutoff wavelength (458 nm) and a big Verdet constant (0.1634 min/G·cm @633 nm) was obtained as a good candidate for magneto optical applications.
