Abstract
In this present work Cu- 10, 20, 30 vol.% Fe3Al composites were developed by powder metallurgy route and the effect of the Fe3Al addition in the Cu matrix on density, electrical conductivity, hardness and dry sliding wear resistance of composite were investigated. A significant improvement in wear resistance was found after addition of 10 vol.% of Fe3Al. The relative density and micro hardness of the Cu-Fe3Al composites shows an increase upto the addition of 20 vol.% of Fe3Al.The electrical resistivity (Ï) of the various Cu-Fe3Al shows an increase with increase in the vol.% of Fe3Al.
