Abstract
Hydroxy-functionalized Graphene/MnO2 (hGO-MnO2) nanocomposite has been synthesized using one-pot sonochemical technique. The present exploration emphasizes on fabricating composites where optimum properties of both - MnO2 and hydroxy-functionalized graphene can synergistically establish superior electrochemical signature. Compared to other reported chemical procedures, we have adopted a simple route for the synthesis of the composite starting from pristine graphite powder. The as-synthesized sample was characterized using powdered - XRD, FTIR, TGA, HRTEM, FESEM techniques. We obtained nanosheets of MnO2 anchored on h-GO and investigated the electrochemical performances using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry and chrono-potentiometric charging/discharging cycles. The composite shows potential applications in energy storage devices.
