Abstract
The HFAG-Tau sub-group has performed in 2016 two similar global fits on the Ï lepton branching fractions measurements. One, unitarity constrained, has been published in the 2016 edition of the Review of Particle Physics [C. Patrignani, et al., Review of particle physics, Chin. Phys. C40 (2016) 100001. doi:10.1088/1674-1137/40/10/100001] and a second one, without the unitarity constraint, is currently preliminary and is expected to be published soon on the HFAG 2016 report [HFAG, Averages of b-hadron, c-hadron, and Ï-lepton properties as of Summer 2016, forthcoming as arXiv preprint]. The resulting Ï branching fractions are used to test the Standard Model lepton universality predictions and to measure the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix element |Vus|.
