Abstract
Charged lepton flavor violation process is a good probe to new physics. The COMET experiment at J-PARC aims to investigate such processes by searching for muon to electron conversion with a sensitivity 4 orders of magnitude better than the current limit. This article includes a brief introduction of the physics background, an overview of the COMET experiment, a description of its staged approach, and a summary of the current status of the COMET experiment.
