Abstract
Davydov-Chaban Hamiltonian is studied considering a generalized form of one of the most famous potential in nuclear physics, the Davidson potential. Regarding the axial deformation, the discussion is restricted only for γ=30°, which corresponds to a triaxial shape. After the energy expression of this system is derived, then it is proved that the energy expression for the original Davidson potential can be recovered as a limit case of the first one. Furthermore, applications of the present solution to experimental data of some isotopes of Palladium and Platinum show that the generalized Davidson potential can be a good alternative to describe gamma-rigid nuclei and also recommend it for further applications to cases where the gamma-rigidity is removed.
