Abstract
► We investigated the influence of technology on dyads' decision making. ► Dyads chose among three items (apartments) in a hidden profile situation. ► When provided with a shared spreadsheet, dyads tended to use compensatory decision strategies. ► When using instant messaging, dyads more often adopted non-compensatory heuristic strategies. ► The selection of the normatively ''best” alternative was unlikely whatever the technology.
