Abstract
⺠We investigated the influence of technology on dyads' decision making. ⺠Dyads chose among three items (apartments) in a hidden profile situation. ⺠When provided with a shared spreadsheet, dyads tended to use compensatory decision strategies. ⺠When using instant messaging, dyads more often adopted non-compensatory heuristic strategies. ⺠The selection of the normatively ''best” alternative was unlikely whatever the technology.
