Abstract
⺠We outline a model for understanding Presence using the outcome of cognitive sciences. ⺠Presence is the product of an intuitive experience-based metacognitive judgment. ⺠This process monitors our activity by using embodied intuitive simulations. ⺠It is possible to distinguish between first-order and second-order mediated actions. ⺠They differ for their effect on our bodily experience: incorporation and incarnation.
