MicroRNA-146a-5p attenuates liver fibrosis by suppressing profibrogenic effects of TGFβ1 and lipopolysaccharide

MiR-146a-5p directly inhibit TGFβ1 pathway by targeting Smad4. Meanwhile, miR-146a-5p decreased the nuclear translocation of NF-κB by targeting IRAK1 and TRAF6, leading to the attenuation of Bambi inhibition, which in turn, blocked the activation of TGFβ1 pathway, resulting in the inhibition of HSCs activation.126
