Abstract
Changes in mRNA and protein expression of key enzymes of soleus and EDL muscles from rats at 30 days and 90 days that were submitted to maternal low protein diet during gestation and lactation. Soleus was more affected by Lp maternal diet at 90 days old. For EDL, the effects of Lp maternal diet were more pronounced at 30 days, as the transcriptional key enzymes of glycolytic pathway were down-regulated. PDK4 mRNA down-regulation were seen in both soleus and EDL and at both ages. Down-regulation of the mRNAs encoding PDK4 in soleus of malnourished animals at 90 days and in EDL at 30 days were not followed by differences in protein levels. 137
