Abstract

The internal combustion (IC) engine is the most integral unit of every vehicle, machine and equipment. Yet the engine suffers a great deal during use, maintenance and repairs due to the crude, primitive and “trial and error” means by which most garages and mechanical (auto) workshops in the country, manned by mostly completely or semi-illiterate way-side drivers, mechanics and fitters with outmoded appliances. These reckless ways of handling the engine is incompatible with the modern scientific and technological methods of today's Information Communication Technology (I.C.T.). The lives and properties of the majority of the people, who are the end users and patronizes of these vehicles, machines and equipment are always at risk and put at stake and the national economy taken to ransom. This paper therefore sought to address this problem by developing a simple I.C.T. method which everybody can understand and use.
