Different condition monitoring methods were applied during a laboratory engine examination in order to find out the wear processes occurring and to determine a suitable method which could be applicable to the detection and diagnosis of abnormal engine condition in practice. The goal of presented research is to monitor the internal combustion engine block. Engine block condition monitoring approach is based on measuring and monitoring the engine operation in variable torque using strain sensor. This research consists of two main procedures, data collecting and data processing. Data collecting is processes of sensor attach, engine running and data recording. Whereas, data processing is translate obtained data using data acquisition, filtering and analysing by I-kaz. The engine is used in this experiment is Mitsubishi 4 cylinders 4G92 113 PS (83 kW; 111 hp) 1.6L 16-valve SOHC engine with multi-point fuel injection. Omega strain gauge has used in order to data collecting, and data translation is done using national instrumentation data acquisition and data recording is done using lab view software. Moreover, the signals are analysed using new statistical analysis method which is I-kaz.
