Abstract
Microbubbles, commonly used as ultrasound contrast agents, are composed of non-toxic gas molecules encapsulated with a thin layer of biocompatible material. Ultrasound microbubble-mediated gene delivery modulates the integrity of vascular endothelial cells and stimulates the absorption of internal cells. This technology has the potential to improve the treatment of liver fibrosis.229
