Abstract
Disorders of sleep and respiratory complaints are common in neurodegenerative diseases. Hypoventilation during sleep, REM parasomnias and sleep associated movement disorders impair the sleep as well as the quality of live and are often relevant for the long-term prognosis. We discuss frequency, differential diagnosis and therapy of sleep complaints in Parkinson's disease, multi system atrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and cerebellar ataxias.
