Abstract

A wireless personal area network standard such as Bluetooth developed by IEEE committee 802.15. operates in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz industrial–scientific–medical band. This band has many unpredictable interference sources such as microwave ovens and local area networks, using the same industrial–scientific–medical frequency band. In order to avoid interference effects it can be able to use turbo coder with bit-interleaved for these applications. In this paper, performance of the Bluetooth system including bit-interleaved turbo coded modulation is investigated. The obtained computer simulation results are given as bit-error-rate versus bit energy-to-noise ratio (Eb/N0).
