Abstract
Aortic stenosis is the most common valvulopathy in develop countries. The progressive aging of the population and its increased life expectancy make it a relevant public health problem. Although the diagnostic criteria for severity are clearly established by the Scientific Guidelines, sometimes the quantification of stenosis is not so easy. There are different clinical and echocardiographic scenarios in which other diagnostic imaging techniques can play a fundamental role. In this review manuscript, these scenarios are evaluated and, according to previous works, a diagnostic algorithm is proposed in order to facilitate the decision making process.
