Abstract
- The electrocardiogram (ECG) and the vector cardiogram (VCG) are different techniques for recording the same information generated by the myocardium.
- These methods are seldom studied side by side or compared with each other.
- Over a half century ago, Dr. Robert P. Grant considered and presented these two techniques as one.
- Grant's “spatial vector” method presents many advantages for teaching and presenting electrical information from the myocardium, and should be reconsidered for teaching ECG interpretation, for clinical applications, and for presentation of research results related to the VCG.
