Clinical predictors of permanent injury to the atrioventricular conduction system after congenital heart disease surgery. A new perspective on an old problem

Our study demonstrates that even if the cardiac conduction system suffers acute injury at the time of surgery in children with congenital heart disease and develops post-operative conduction defects, its restitution seems to be intrinsically related to the well-being of the system as a whole during the first 7 to 10 days after surgery.
