Abstract
This paper introduces a new framework suitable for automatic white balancing of digital camera images. By utilizing refined color modeling concepts, the proposed framework combines both the global and local spectral characteristics of the captured image to adjust its coloration in a computationally efficient way. The framework allows flexible design of different white balancing solutions that can enhance the acquired color information adaptively, thus providing the user with a number of options to achieve visually pleasing color images1.
