Abstract
In this paper, a variable structure control (VSC) design for a chaotic symmetric gyro with linear-plus-cubic damping is considered. The results show that the stable or unstable (chaotic) nonlinear gyros can be controlled and asymptotically driven the system orbits to arbitrarily desired trajectories. Numerical simulations demonstrate the validity and feasibility of the proposed VSC design method.
