Abstract
⺠The adsorptions of SO2 and NO on Al2O3 were promoted by each other. ⺠The weakly absorbed species of NO and SO2 might be transformed into strongly absorbed species. ⺠The lattice oxygen of Al2O3 likely could directly participate in oxidation reactions. ⺠At least two types of intermediates [SO3NO] and [SO3NO2] formed when SO2 and NO interacted on Al2O3.
