Abstract
- Development of inhalable Solid Lipid Microparticles (SLM) to transport the anti-tubercular rifampicin within alveolar macrophages.
- The calculated aerodynamic diameter was proper to promote SLM flow toward the alveolar epithelium.
- SLM showed negative charged surface able to promote uptake by the macrophages and preserved drug antimicrobial activity.
- In vitro studies on murine macrophages J774 cell lines demonstrated SLM ability to be taken up by cell cytoplasm.
