Abstract
- We have evaluated spray-drying to formulate large porous particles of pyrazinamide for lung delivery.
- Spray-drying pyrazinamide alone leads to unstable crystalline particles of the δ polymorph, not adapted for pulmonary administration.
- Using a combination of excipients (leucine, ammonium bicarbonate, hyaluronic acid and dipalmitoylphosphatidyl choline) we obtain stable large porous particles with good potential for lung delivery.
