Abstract
Some novel Schisanhenol derivatives (1-16, 15a-16a, and 15b-16b) were designed and prepared. Their curative and protective effects against tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) were preliminarily evaluated firstly. Most of the analogues exhibited higher protective effects than the positive control ningnanmycin. Compounds 6 and 16 may be promising lead structures for the discovery of new antiviral protective agents. This study is the first to demonstrate that natural dibenzocyclooctadiene lignans and their analogues can be used to develop potential virucides for plants.281
