Abstract
Assessment of the UV protecting potential of leaf extract of Harpephyllum caffrum proved that it possesses oxygen radical absorbance capacity and inhibits the production of the proinflammatory cytokine IL-6 by human keratinocytes following UV radiation. Three hitherto unknown phenolics were characterized from this extract.78
