Abstract
Hemerocallis citrina Baroni (Liliaceae) has traditionally been used in the treatment of depression. Administration of the ethanol extract of H. citrina (HCE) (32.5, 65, 130Â mg/kg) reversed the depression-like behaviors and up-regulated the BDNF and TrkB receptor expressions in rats induced by exogenous administration of the stress hormone corticosterone241.
