Abstract
Cryptoporus volvatus grows wildly in China and its fruiting body has been used for asthma and bronchitis back to the 15th century a.d. We found that Cryptoporus polysaccharide (CP), a low molecular weight acid polysaccharide isolated from Cryptoporus volvatus showed inhibitory effects on inflammation and release of proinflammatory cytokines in the asthma and bronchitis models.
