Abstract
Two populations of the species, Passiflora edulis 'edulis' with purple fruit and Passiflora edulis 'flavicarpa' with yellow fruit showed different behavioral effects on mice in elevated plus maze. The former exhibited sedative-like activity but the latter displayed anxiolytic effect. Phytochemical analysis of the two populations revealed that they had different flavonoid compositions.
