Abstract
Salidroside, an active component of the Tibet and traditional Chinese medicine Rhodiola rosea for treating high altitude sickness, anoxia and mountain malhypoxia, was found to promote erythropoiesis and protect erythroblasts against oxidative stress by up-regulating glutathione peroxidase and thioredoxin.
